Woah. This J-drama is a tough one. I find it sad and touching…

The series is about a girl, Aya, who is struggling to fight her incurable disease. Day by day, the situation gets worse. And everyday, more and more people gets hurt.

I took some time to think about it. What if the same incurable disease chose me? Will I be able to be strong and be optimistic just like her. Will I be able to do anything meaningful to the people around me?

La la la… Ok. Just watch the series if you think your life is something worthless. This may change the way you think about things. One tip: Feel the story!

Nodame Cantabile Live Action Series

Wohoo! The Live Action adaptation of my favorite anime series (and manga) is on TV!

The moment I heard about this news, I told myself that I’m gonna watch it. I heard from anime (and J-drama) fans that this is an excellent adaptation of the manga. The actors and actresses didn’t fail to bring the comedic atmosphere that brings the series to life.

The J-drama is composed of 11 episodes of 40minutes of laughter and tears (of joy). But, one Philippine TV, I noticed that 1 episode takes 3 days to finish. That is so “bitin”. So I decided to watch it online. As a matter of fact, this is my first J-drama.

Am I tired of anime?

This site is so out of date. I was so busy with my schoolwork  and my back pain-causing job. Actually, last season, all the series that I started fell into a standstill. I stopped downloading new episodes… except Clannad ~After Story~ which I cannot survive without.

Am I tired of anime? Have I outgrown my obsession?

In the last few weeks, I started watching an American series and I got addicted to it. Why? The elements of romance, comedy and sci-fi, all of them I found in it. I can’t stop watching. I keep stretching my time just to watch a 40-minute episode of the series. Hmm.. Am I trading anime for a more mature form of entertainment? I’m not sure.

From next week onwards, I’m expecting lots of free time. So I’m doing this experiment: I’ll drop all the anime series that I’m not really interested in. When I say ‘anime series that I’m not really interested in,’ it means that I only watch this anime because of its popularity, with not much interest. So, I’m going to drop those and limit the anime series to those that I think I will really like. Then, I’m going to push the American series to my schedule and see and clear things up.

So, that’s it… I should catch up on Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou now…

Asu no Yoichi

Asu no Yoichi is not really on my to-watch list because I’m tired of watching childish-ecchi type of anime. But then, one time when I was checking the website of Chihiro for new episodes of Akikan, they mentioned there the vast popularity of this Ecchi series. So that caught my attention and told myself, “I’m checking this out.”

Yoichi is a samurai from the mountain whose specialty is Divine-Wind-Technique-La-la-la but he is already too strong, so his father told him to go to the civilization to meet different people and strengthen not his sword but his heart. He is directed to the Ikaruga family which have an old relationship with the Karasuma Clan, the clan where Yoichi belongs. Ikaruga is a family of four cute sisters, one 10-year old(pedophile alert!) and three high-school aged girls.

Yoichi, who does not know everything about the city, wandered around and got lost finding the Ikaruga sisters. Can you imagine what will happen when an innocent samurai loathing around the busy city? That’s what you will get on the pilot episode of the series. What would happen to Yoichi? Will he succeed in his desire to strengthen his soul? What would happen to him in the paradise dojo he is living? That’s what we’re to find out watching the next episodes.

For me, this is just an ordinary series. I do hope it get better and better.

CLANNAD ~After Story~ - 14

OMG. I can’t believe Nagisa. I can’t believe myself too. She’s definitely definitely my type. But that fact doesn’t hinder my hidden feelings for Sanae-san. I love her compassionate personality. I’m taking them home!

I’m not really posting episodically about Clannad. It just so happened that I totally love this episode. Everything about it! Everything!

If you haven’t seen this episode, I pity you! This episode alone is a hundred times better than some crappy series out there! Ha ha.

My Stupid Summary: In this episode, you will see the bonding of father-and-son-in-law. Actually we can call it “stupid bonding.” Also, Nagisa will be finding a job… guess what?… she’s going to be a waitress. Oops. And at the end of the episode, you will experience the boldness-slash-moeness of Nagisa. I actually died there, but y’know, stupid bastard spirits don’t die that easily that’s why I lived. XD

My advice to those who will watch this episode is to ready to Laugh out loud, and to die, and to laugh again… and to be shocked too.

Isn't she so cute. And oh, she's mine! Mine alone! Nagisa and me! Wahaha.

I wish this series would not end up like in the Clannad Movie, if you know what I mean. I wish, I wish. Oh, I don’t know if I should be excited for the next episode or not.

I will rate this episode – this episode alone – a whooping 15/10.

Kurozuka

If you’re not looking for a weird anime to watch, then I’m not recommending you Kurozuka. If you’re a fan of blood and gore, it’s worth a try. The story is not that shallow and the turn of events is very confusing.  But for me, the finale of this series is satisfying enough to conclude the tale.

Kurozuka is labeled as Romance, Horror, Supernatural, Historical and Drama. I believe that the 13 episodes are enough to narrate the tale of adventure of the main guy.

In the middle of a fight, or a war, Kuro meets a beautiful lady in a hut on the mountain. Eventually, he fell in love with her, and uncovered the dark secret she was concealing. Before they get separated, immortality was shared to him with love, and he continued to live for thousand of years. Will he ever find his lover again? And will he ever learn why things came to this.

Tell me I’m weird, I don’t care. I just like this series… the romance, the adventure, the everything…

Another thing. The OP sucks! The vocals keeps on screaming senseless “READY TO GO! SYSTEMATIC PEOPLE!”.. What the f*** is that? The series is bloody, I know, but they should have chosen a better ‘heavy’ song, and not just screaming the very same words over and over.

The ED is another thing. I love it. The woman’s voice of uncertainty and love, the lyrics, and the background pictures… everything works perfectly.

I’m giving this the series a whooping 8.7/10.

Hakushaku to Yousei (Earl and Fairy)

I just finished watching Hakushaku to Yousei. I’m giving it a 9/10, not giving it a perfect 10 because the romance is not satisfying.

I smell a second season. There are many hanging questions left, and it did a good job. Fans will be demanding for more Edgar, and I will be demanding for more Lydia and Nico.

The story is set in Victorian England and follows the adventure of Lydia, a Fairy Doctor. She has an odd ability to communicate with fairies. She was hired by Edgar Ashenbert in his quest to become the legendary Blue Knight Earl.

I’m not really good at writing reviews. I just want to express how much I liked the series.

A perfect Earl with many personality flaws + a beautiful Fairy Doctor = Wonderful Romance. Too bad they did not focus on that aspect. But it’s enjoyable to watch it anyways.

A/N: I don’t really have much time to post. It’s time to go. Midterms are coming next week. Ha ha. Maybe I’ll be updating this post once everything is over. ^^

Ha ha ha. I’m actually counting my filler post. What’s up with me. I think I’m getting crazier everyday. Honest.

Midterms are coming next week and I’m not in the mood to study. I’m only in the mood to watch and finish the episodes that I missed. If you will look at my MAL, you will see that there are many things on my ‘Currently Watching’ list. I’m not dropping them. It’s just that I don’t have that much time. I only get to watch 3 episodes a day, at most.

Another thing. Crunchyroll. I think everyone knows what happened to good ol’ CR. All of the old videos were removed. And most of the series there are not available to be watched in the Philippines. WTF, Shinji, WTF? At least he should have moved it to any other site. So now I have to download everything… and I’m not sure if I could ever find the ones I’m looking for. GO HORRIBLESUBS! KEEP RIPPING OFF FROM CR! LET’S DO THIS TO TELL SHINJI HOW MUCH HE DISAPPOINTED MOST OF US!

I hate Biology! I think everyone does. Expecially the classifying stuffs. Why do we have to memorize all the classification of the living creatures? It’s not like there are only few of them! And why do we have to know all their physical gifts? Can we make use of that knowledge for the better of our lives? NOT!

About Chemistry, well, I should not criticize it. For I will be taking Chemistry and lots of Chemistry throughout my college years. Wish me luck!

Their HighSchool Portrait

For those who don’t know Kimi ga Nozomu Eien(literally The Eternity You Desire), it is originally a 14-episode drama/romance anime focusing on a love triangle spiced with a large dose of tragedy. The love triangle is between these two girls(Suzumiya Haruka and Hayase Mitsuki) and the guy and the right(Narumi Takayuki).

In every love triangle, one wins and the other goes home broken-hearted. The original series is very dramatic, so it’s up to you who you want the guy to end up with. In the end, one girl won his heart. It’s too depressing for the fans of the other one(like me), right? So the studio produced a 4-episode OVA entitled Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~Next Season~ giving the other girl a chance, and giving the series a different finale.

Possible spoilers ahead. (It’s impossible to discuss without saying something important)

Hayase Mitsuki won over Takayuki on the original series but I’m not really satisfied with that ending. Haruka needs Takayuki more. I was sad for Haruka, but when they announced that they will be making OVA taking the other route, I felt excited more than ever. Haruka deserves to have him!

~Next Season~

It’s a nice thing I waited for this OVA to finish. It’s worth the time and patience. The art and animation remain beautiful as ever, no marks of time. I missed them so much, and now that it is finished, I will miss them again.

This is a must-watch for romance/drama lovers. A brilliant series and a more brilliant ending. Let me quote once more the spell that kept(and will continue keeping) them together through the toughest and roughest tests:

Like the brightest stars in the darkest skies of night…
Hearts that have truly joined will never fade…
Even if these hands ever pull apart…
The connection between us will never be betrayed…

Here it is, the better finale of the tragic tale. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Nyanko Attack!

Natsume Yuujinchou is finally back with the season two title of Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou. I was totally excited, and by the time the first episode come out subbed, I became hysterical. I know that BSS will sub this series but I’m not a fan of them(because they don’t release Xvid format, that is). So I tried to find fansubbers other than BSS, I found Jade(a new fansubbing group which I don’t know if they would last) but they’re taking so long. Good thing ainex, which also subbed the first season, considered this as their project! Wohoo!

Anyways, I find this first episode great. It’s a very good start for the sequel of a good series. I missed Nyanko-sensei.

OP: The opening song is ok, but it’s kind of… average. I can’t say it’s superb but I can’t say it sucks either. I don’t think the typicality of the OP degrades the anime series. In fact, the OP of the first season Natsume Yuujinchou does not stand out.

The Episode: As you might know, I’m not a fan of spoilers. I don’t want anybody to be spoiled by me, either. So I would just say that this episode is great, simple as ever, and is so Natsume. I don’t want it to change pace.. I like Natsume Yuujinchou the way it is. Here’s some series of cute screenshots that obviously will not spoil those who haven’t watched it.
